_______________________________________________________________ Announcement of new Imam: Imam Abdur'Rauf R. Campos Marquetti
He is the current Imam of the TaHa Mosque-Islamic Center of Santa Fe. He has served as Vice President and General Secretary of the Islamic Center of New Mexico in Albuquerque as well as the Program Coordinator for Project Share in Albuquerque (program for feeding the Homeless and the Needy) and the Muslim Prison Outreach Program in New Mexico. Abdur'Rauf is a convert to Islam who was born in Spanish Harlem and grew up in the inner city of Brooklyn, New York. He became a Muslim while getting his degree in the Geological Sciences at Cornell University in 1980. He is a Senior Scientist by profession and is a principal scientific investigator on the processing and analysis of airborne Hyperspectral, LIDAR, satellite-based digital imagery with applications in the area of Natural Resource and Urban Terrain mapping. Abdur'Rauf is the co-founder of the Interfaith PeaceWalk and has conducted over 10 peacewalks throughout the US and Canada, and was a member of an interfaith peace delegation to Lebanon, Palestine and Israel with the Fellowship of Reconciliation in 2003. He is presently the Executive Producer of a weekly public access television program on Islam in Albuquerque (Channel 27) called the Islamic Forum of New Mexico.
